Manage major-gift prospects

Add, qualify, assign, advance, pause, and brief major-gift prospects from the agent dashboard.

This page is a draft. A human editor should review the final product wording before publication.

Before you start

  • The Director suite must be available for your organization.
  • The donor must already have a contact record in GiveLink.

Add a prospect manually

  1. Open Agents, then Prospects.
  2. Select Add prospect.
  3. Search for the donor by name or email.
  4. Choose a relationship owner and priority, if known.
  5. Select Add prospect.

The donor enters the queue as a candidate in the identification stage. The major-donor flagging play can also add candidates from recorded giving evidence.

Qualify and organize the portfolio

  1. Use the state filters to focus the queue.
  2. Review the donor, state, relationship owner, stage, priority, and G12 snapshot.
  3. Assign a current organization member as the relationship owner.
  4. Set an A, B, or C priority when your team is ready to rank the relationship.
  5. Move the prospect through identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship as the relationship changes.
  6. Use the row actions to activate, pause, disqualify, archive, or return the record to candidate when that transition is available.

Create the next move

  1. Open the prospect's actions.
  2. Select New move.
  3. Enter a short, specific task such as “Schedule a qualification call.”
  4. Add a due date, assignee, and priority.
  5. Select Create move.

The move appears as a linked task for the donor. Keeping one substantive move current prevents the stale next-move play from creating avoidable alerts.

Generate a donor briefing

  1. Open the prospect's actions.
  2. Select Generate briefing.
  3. Wait for the one-page briefing to finish.
  4. Review unknown or missing details before using the brief in a conversation.
  5. Regenerate later when the donor record has meaningful new information.

GiveLink keeps briefing history and shows the latest briefing in the prospect queue and on the donor profile.
